How can we not get excited about celebrating the true reason for Christmas.

So, when I heard the local town of Euharlee was having a parade of floats, I decided to round up some nativity characters.

It was a God thing how everything came together in such a short amount of time.

I just kept praying, hit yard sales, Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, and Salvation Army, and came up with all the material, along with some donations from some folks.  Then I hit the dollar store for the “trimmings”.

On Saturday, it rained off and on and we weren’t sure if it would happen, or who would be coming.

I just started making the costumes and ended up with just the right amount for everyone who showed up.

We had a wonderful time (though we did get a little wet), and the newspaper was there and took our pictures which made the front page on Monday (The Daily Tribune News).

I love celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.

Special thanks to Steve and Becky for the Nativity set, tractor and flatbed!!!

(Well, I can’t get the pictures posted)

Wes and I recently wanted to use up a free weekend car rental.  So we went to rent a car for a trip south.  We we got to the rental place, the lady informed us that she only had one car left and we would have to take it.

We were able to spend time with our growing families over the holidays. Though many of us were sick with the colds going around we had a wonderful time together. Enjoy the photos. We celebrated Wolfgang’s 80th birthday (Jan 31st) a few weeks early.

It was a real joy to have the kids here for the holiday. We had two real snow storms and so our grandkids and the three dogs got a real taste of snow. At first they really didn’t like it at all. But here is a photo that shows that they really learned to enjoy the snow.p1016479.JPG

I was yard saling and bought a set of dishes. I thought they would be a good item to sell on ebay. But it seems that they are very rare. Any one out there have any interest in these lovely dishes? Pattern is Virginia #7622 of Wentworth China made in Japan. They have a very lovely weave pattern in the whole plate and have silver trim.

This year I directed once again a drive through nativity with several changes and modifications. We also added an indoor marketplace that had hands on activities for all ages. It was two very cold and exciting evenings as cars drove through from all parts of the Hudson Valley and many came indoors for the activities. Special thanks to a staff of over fifty that gave this great gift to our community once again.
